The MENCAP Snap! Photo Competition’s theme for this year was ‘Active’. I entered a total of 33 photos showing the varying abilities of the students throughout our school. I was delighted to discover that some of our photos had won prizes. Eddie and his photo ’Dragon Boat Fun’ 
won a Gold prize, Paul and his photo ’Parachuting’ also won Gold. James and his photo ’You Can’t Catch Me!’ won Silver, and Laura Edgar and her photo ’My Iron Man Friend’ won Bronze. Each of these winners received a camera for school, so with a total of 4 brand new cameras in school we’ll definitely be producing some top quality photographers! James went down to London for the awards ceremony and for the opening of the exhibition, he had a great time 
meeting ’The Cheeky Girls’ and celebrities from ‘Eastenders’ and ‘Gavin and Stacey’. We received some gift vouchers with which we were able to 
buy some other photographic materials and equipment. You can view the winning photos on www.mencap.org.uk/snap. I was also very excited to hear that the exhibition is coming to Liverpool—this is a first! If you would like to see the photos, the exhibition is at Liverpool One between 2nd and15th of January 2011. I can’t wait!
